In my youth I often witnessed and worked in the process of building, because in Bosnia, where I grew up, it was a common tradition to help your family, neighbors and friends build their house. This experience opened my heart to building as a nurturing and community enlivening experience.
After completing Art studies at the Rietveld academy in Amsterdam, I dedicated myself to learn about building with sustainable materials. I owe most of my knowledge to my partnership with Justen van Duurling, my first teacher. One of my most memorable experiences was participating in a workshop for building load bearing straw bale vaults in Tamera sustainable community in Portugal with prof. Gernot Minke one of the grandfathers of modern clay architecture.
I specialized since 2003 in clay plasters and Tadelakt. Since then I have done over 80 projects. I work in a close relationship with Tierrafino - Carl Giskes, Martijn Heinsius from Heinsius Clay&Tadelakt and Pavel Pakuza from Lartierra.
Always curious about natural architecture, on my travels through Morocco and Mexico I have explored ancient building techniques, such as rammed earth and adobe, and their application to contemporary living environments.
An important aspect of my life is my healing work as a practitioner of Plant Spirit Medicine, which I learned directly from senior shaman Eliot Cowan.
I am also an initiated Granicero (weather worker) in the ancient mexican Nahua tradition under the guidance of Granicero Chief David Wiley.
As a parallel activity to my building and designing work I also treat patients and help my clients, if needed, with shamanic space clearing.
